Pre-conference hands-on technical training provides the latest and greatest technical expertise in OnBase. You’ll interact with expert engineers and trainers as you learn about trending topics and build solutions. Plus, OnBase-certified professionals can renew select certifications.

On Sunday and Monday, there is one morning and one afternoon hands-on training session, each about 3.5 hours long. This package includes the recertification opportunities listed below, plus:

  • Advancing your workflow solution with WorkView

    Technical level: Expert

    Ready to expand your Hyland Brewery solution to add merchandising? Customers have been asking for t-shirts, mugs and coozies. We need to expand! Create a WorkView solution focusing on taking online forms containing multiple items purchased and converting them into a series of related WorkView objects. Grant business users the flexibility to change, add or update merchandise offerings on the fly. 

    This course is offered on Sunday and Monday afternoons.

  • Basics of building a WorkView application

    Technical level: Beginner

    Start from the beginning of WorkView in this course by clicking through an existing solution. Then, dive into point-and-click configurability designing your first solution. Learn all about applications, classes, attributes, filters, filter bars, screens and views. Finish your application by testing it out and tying all the pieces together.

  • Building your first workflow

    Technical level: Beginner

    Are you a system or workflow administrator tasked with building or maintaining workflow solutions? If so, this course is for you. We’ll introduce you to OnBase Studio and create a basic lifecycle. Learn essential workflow functions, such as ad-hoc tasks, rules, actions, timers and basic security. In this hands-on session, you’ll gain understanding into the workflow interface, interactions and possibilities.

  • Building your second workflow

    Technical level: Beginner

    Join us as we work to take your lifecycle to the next level. We'll demonstrate how to make your solution more efficient and flexible by designing essential work-balancing among multiple users, configuring administration-level security, and exploring available methods to provide related items to your users so they can make more informed decisions.

  • Enhancing solutions by customizing WorkView views and connecting workflow with WorkView

    Technical level: Expert

    Start this class with a pre-built solution that's ready to be taken to the next step. Use CSS to improve the WorkView views for a more customized look. Then, connect workflow and WorkView together within the solution using document type associations, properties and expressions and finalizing your solution with workflow notifications based on WorkView attribute values.

  • Expanding the functionality of your basic WorkView application

    Technical level: Beginner

    Take your WorkView applications to the next level by building on the knowledge you gained in "Basics of building a WorkView application." Learn about importing existing WorkView applications as well as relating to other information including documents, folders and external information. Next, you will excelerate the application creation using ACE (Application Creation Excelerator) and finish up the class learning how workflow and WorkView can interact together to create more robust solutions.

  • Exploring and modifying a workflow solution

    Technical level: Intermediate

    Ready to order your bottles or kegs? In this class you will build or modify a workflow for Hyland Brewery, our fictitious beer manufacturing business.  You will be using intermediate tools including load balancing and ownership, workflow timers, properties and expressions and more. To complete the class, go through the process of administrating the solution to truly understand how the whole process works.

  • Hyland RPA - Analyzing and building basic processes

    Technical level: Beginner

    Are you ready to learn more about Hyland's newest product, Hyland RPA? Join our RPA specialists as they cover how Hyland RPA works and then directly implement what you've seen in a VM. You will leave this session having configured part of a Hyland RPA process.

  • Migrating to the Hyland Cloud

    Technical level: Intermediate

    Join us as we talk through best practices, approaches and techniques to migrating your solutions to the cloud. This session will help you prioritize, justify and plan your migration to Hyland's world-wide cloud services.

  • OnBase administration in the Hyland Cloud

    Technical level: Beginner

    Whether you’ve recently migrated to the Hyland Cloud or are rolling your new hosted solutions, you may have questions like “Are administrative tasks the same? What can or can’t I do? What should I be doing? Are there new tools to administer and grow the solution?” This course will outline the cloud architecture, things you can and should do yourself as well as when you should reach out to Hyland. We will also cover suggested tasks and duties to perform on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, troubleshooting and maintenance tips, and how to plan for expansion.

  • OnBase Healthcare system administration recertification

    Technical level: Beginner

    This course will explore recent changes in OnBase and how these changes directly impact system administration, as well as the new admin features and best practices. Successful completion of this course updates the certification status of former or current OnBase Certified System Administrators (OCSA) or OnBase Advanced System Administrators (OCASA) for an additional two years.

  • OnBase integration for Salesforce

    Technical level: Beginner

    Do you find yourself navigating between Salesforce and OnBase to search for information and documents? Do you need to navigate away from Salesforce to import supporting documentation? Have you debated building your own integration to reduce the back and forth between systems? If that sounds like you, then join us to learn how we leverage the most important features of OnBase to allow Salesforce users to search, view, import and index documents directly from Salesforce. In addition, you will see the flexibility of the solution for admins to implement and manage. We'll show you how to solve the challenge of disparate systems and help keep your business centered around your customers.

  • OnBase integration for Workday

    Technical level: Beginner

    In this session, we'll showcase how Hyland AP for Workday, Integration for Workday Student, and Hyland for Workday Extend can transform your solution. These three integrations facilitate document capture, validation checks, synchronization of data, and automated management all in line with your current Workday solution, as well as provide your Workday screens with one-click access to your documents. Join us to learn how to supercharge your existing Workday solution.

  • OnBase system administration recertification

    Technical level: Beginner

    This course will explore the changes in OnBase as well as new features and best practices that will directly impact system administration. The class will also interactively explore areas of OnBase functionality and how they can be used to resolve user and organizational needs. Upon successfully completing this course, any individual who was or is an OnBase Certified System Administrator (OCSA) or OnBase Advanced System Administrator (OCASA) will have their certification status updated for an additional two years.

  • Solution leaders workshop

    Technical level: Beginner

    The role of leaders driving Hyland solutions in organizations continues to evolve in light of technology, business, and industry changes.  Whether you are new to the role or have many years of leadership experience, learning the strategies and tactics that drive success are crucial to keeping up with the vast changes that influence what we do.  This discussion-based workshop will help identify key areas of solution leadership, exploring successful strategies employed to achieve needed buy-in across organizations, effectively source and onboard new team members, ensure positive solution results, and much more.

  • Troubleshooting your OnBase Healthcare solution

    Technical level: Beginner

    As an administrator, it is important to keep your system up and running in prime condition. When errors occur, it can feel like the world stops as we work for a solution. In this course, we will be focusing on troubleshooting the most common issues, including Mrorphan documents, HL7 errors, DIP issues, auto-fill keyword set troubles, user access errors and patient window troubleshooting.

  • Understanding the lifespan of a document through OnBase

    Technical level: Intermediate

    This course will walk through the lifespan of a document. We will focus on email, beginning with import, then moving through store and view. Don't forget about all the possible Indexing methods and securing your documents. Last stop is destroying at the end of the document's life. Join us as we move through the complete cycle, discussing and configuring along the way.

  • Workflow troubleshooting - Level up

    Technical level: Intermediate

    There are a number of tools available when troubleshooting workflow. Which should you use, and when? In this course, learn the best tools to use when troubleshooting your lifecycles. With your fellow attendees, “play” through a series of levels to get hands-on experience with these tools. Can you get the new high score?

To ensure all Hyland-certified professionals uphold high performance standards, all Hyland recertifications provide accreditation for two years after the requirement has been met.

OCSA (OnBase Certified System Administrator)

The OnBase Certified System Administrator (OCSA) certification is awarded to OnBase system administrators who possess a high level of OnBase knowledge, understand how OnBase is used in their organization and demonstrate the ability to support and maintain their OnBase solution.

Requirement: Attend the System Administration Recertification course at CommunityLIVE

OCASA (OnBase Certified Advanced System Administrator)

The OnBase Certified Advanced System Administrator (OCASA) certification is awarded to OnBase system administrators who exhibit an advanced level of OnBase product knowledge and demonstrate the ability to capably administer and enhance their OnBase solution.

OCWA (OnBase Certified Workflow Administrator)

The OnBase Certified Workflow Administrator (OCWA) certification is awarded to certified OnBase system administrators who demonstrate the ability to support and maintain an extensive OnBase Workflow solution.

OCAWA (OnBase Certified Advanced Workflow Administrator)

The OnBase Certified Advanced Workflow Administrator (OCAWA) certification is awarded to certified OnBase Workflow administrators who demonstrate an advanced level of OnBase Workflow knowledge and the ability to support, maintain and enhance their OnBase Workflow solutions.

OCSE (OnBase Certified Support Engineer)

The OnBase Certified Support Engineer (OCSE) certification is awarded to OnBase professionals who demonstrate the ability to resolve customer issues as the first line of support for an OnBase solution.
